Volunteer Application & Background Check (JDP Quickapp)

As part of your volunteer role, all required clearance and background checks must be completed and submitted to the Safety Officer before you can assume any role involving the supervision of children. These are requirements that are set forth by Pennsylvania State Law for Volunteers and by Little League International.

REQUIRED CLEARANCES & BACKGROUND CHECKS:

Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check

  • Valid for 5 years.

  • Volunteers may already have a current record check on file.

  • FEE: Free for volunteers.

DHS - Child Abuse Clearance

  • Valid for 5 years.

  • Suggest completing this ASAP since it may take up to 14 days (or more) to receive results.

  • FEE: Free for Volunteers.

FBI Fingerprint

  • Required only if you have not lived in Pennsylvania for the past 10 consecutive years.

  • This only needs to be completed once.

  • FEE: $23.25

Little League Abuse Awareness Course

  • Required annually by Little League International.

  • Returning volunteers who completed the course last year must retake the course after the date they originally completed it to remain compliant for the new season.

  • 30 Minute Course.

  • FEE: Free for volunteers.

Little League Background Questionnaire (Volunteer Application)

  • Required annually by Little League International.

  • Link will be sent via email once all other team are complete.

  • CLL uses the JDPQuickAPP feature, that way CLL does not handle any sensitive information (ex. Driver License Number, Social Security Number, etc).

HOW TO SUBMIT DOCUMENTS FOR REVIEW:

  1. Upload directly to your profile on the CLL website.

Required Certifications/Trainings

ANNUAL LITTLE LEAGUE ABUSE AWARENESS COURSE

This course, now serves as a replacement for the program previously available through third-party organizations like USA Baseball, is custom to the Little League program and provides an easier learning experience for our volunteers. Required to be completed by all volunteers each year (Returning volunteers who completed the course last year must retake the course after the date they originally completed it to remain compliant for the new season), this available as part of the training and education courses at https://www.littleleague.org/university/training/, making signing up for the course even easier for our volunteers.

All Abuse Awareness Certificate of Completion MUST be submitted to the Safety Officer.

Code Of Conduct

As a Cheltenham Little League Coach, I agree to:

  • Serve as a positive role model for all players, promoting sportsmanship, respect, and fair play.

  • Refrain from engaging in unsportsmanlike behavior, including verbal or physical abuse, arguing with umpires, or disrespecting, players, parents, or volunteers.

  • Encourage player safety and well-being above all else.

  • Follow all League rules, policies, and instruction from League officials.

  • Ensure equitable playing time and opportunities consistent with Little League guidelines.

I understand that violations of the Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, suspension, or removal from coaching duties.
