Cheltenham Little League relies on the support of parent volunteers to provide the best possible experience for our players. There are many ways to get involved, whether you can commit a few hours or the whole season. Parents can volunteer as coaches, team parents, scorekeepers, field crew, event organizers, or by assisting with fundraising and special events.

For those interested in helping guide the future of the league, joining the CLL Board of Directors  is another great opportunity. Board members play a key role in planning, operations, and ensuring the league continues to thrive.

All volunteers (expect snack stand and volunteers under the age of 18) are required to complete a series of background checks for the safety of our players. Volunteering is a great way to support the league, meet other families, and make a lasting impact on our players' experience. 

REQUIRED CLEARANCES & BACKGROUND CHECKS (FOR VOLUNTEERS OR THE AGE OF 18):

PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK:

• Valid for 5 years (Some volunteers may already have this on file).
  
  
• FEE: Free for volunteers.

DHS - CHILD ABUSE CLEARANCE:

• Valid for 5 years (Some volunteers may already have this on file).
  
  
• We suggest completing this ASAP since it may take up to 14 days (or more) to receive results.
  
  
• FEE: Free for volunteers.

FBI FINGERPRINT:

• Required only if you have not lived in Pennsylvania for the past 10 consecutive years.
  
  
• This only needs to be completed once.
  
  
• FEE: $23.25

LITTLE LEAGUE ABUSE AWARENESS COURSE:

• Required annually by Little League International.
  
  
• 30 Minute Course.
  
  
• FEE: Free for volunteers.

LITTLE LEAGUE BACKGROUND QUESTIONNAIRE:

• Required annually by Little League International.
  
  
• Link will be sent via email once all other items are complete.

You may submit your clearance and background documents in one of the following ways:

1. Must register as a volunteer through the CLL website.

Cheltenham Little League would like to inform all families that a list of cleared volunteers for the 2026 season will be made available no later than the day before Opening Day 2026.

For privacy and security, the list will be shared as a password-protected document. The password will be emailed directly to families participating in our Spring 2026 Baseball, Softball, and Challenger programs.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and secure environment for all players, families, and volunteers.

Each family is expected to volunteer one 1-hour shift during the season (families may be asked to fill another shift) to help operate our snack stand, which supports league activities and improvements. A sign-sheet will be distributed by your team manager at least one week after the season scheduled is released. If there is no parent volunteer in the snack stand, that game may be canceled or postponed until a volunteer can be found.
