ABOUT_

CLL's Mission:

The primary objective of the corporation is to serve as educator of children through their participation in youth sports, and to teach them the value and ideals of good sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork, dependability, accountability, loyalty, honesty and respect for authority. To help achieve this objective, the corporation will provide a supervised program of competitive baseball/softball games under the rules and regulations of Little League Baseball, Inc., the rules and regulations of all other leagues the members participate in, and the rules and regulations adopted from time-to-time by the corporation. While the corporation recognizes that the development of baseball skills and the winning of games are important, both are secondary to the primary objective of the corporation.

NUMBER 30 WAS AN OUTING TO REMEMBER!

Cheltenham, PA (CLL) - For the second time in 30 years we had a rainout of the Cheltenham Little League Gold Outing. However, that didn't deter 100 players from coming out two weeks later to honor and remember former CLL President Ron Camp, who passed away earlier this year.

In addition to celebrating Ron's legacy, we also honored the passing of Pru Rebitz, John Haas and Chuck Camp, all of whom ere part of the CLL history. In attendance were many of Ron's family, including his wife Kathleen and son Brian, Pru's son and daughter-in-law and many friends of John.

Not only was this year's event a celebration of their lives, but it was also a huge fundraiser for Cheltenham Little League as we enter into the 75th year of its existence.

The key to our fundraise has always been our sponsors and this year, so many people came through for the organization. Case in point, Stuckert Plumbing, who at the last minute became our title sponsor.

In addition, longtime CLL steward Bruce Rangoon, Leckman Law and golf ball sponsor RDS Automotive came through like the champions they are. Other businesses who made a huge impact at this year's event were Liberty Roofing, Everlasting Fence Company, Sprinkles Ice Cream Shoppe, Hair by Erica Loney, Allen Tire, Authentic Life Therapy, Luigi's Pizzarama II and the investment firm of Paul Buffy.

That's just a small piece of the puzzle, as many other businesses stepped up and made their presence felt, like Len Garza of Premier Group Insurance and Ed Lloyd of Sixsmith Sporting Goods who supplied the golf hats for all players with Ron's initials on the side.

We can go on and on in appreciation of our supporters, but for now... Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.

For the sixth consecutive year, the annual Columbus Day event was staged at Ron Jaworski's Ramblewood Country Club. Having our event on the Blue and White nines at Ramblewood, one would have thought that the scores would be high, but that certainly was not the case, as the weather featured brilliant sunshine with light winds. This year's champions, Rodger Gottlieb, Mike Kern, David Magagna and Lawrence and Phil Sokol carded a smooth round of 13-under-par 59 to capture the top spot. The title was decided by a match of cards, as they edged out the group of Barry Delp, Denny Parastino, Matt Young and Rob Loy.

"The course was in amazing shape," said Gottlieb. "It was probably the best condition the course has been in since I've been playing here the last six years!"

Our prize holes were hotly contested, as Matt Lawlor and Larry Simonsen captured Closest to the Pin honors and Dave Bennett and Ron Deshazo won Straightest Drive recognition. Our pot of Gold winner was Gus Araujo, who was the only player to hit his tee shot into the circle!

We would be remiss if we didn't mention JC Campoli, who once again took group photos and shots around the course. "Your outing is one of the highlights of our season, as it's always well run and the players really have a great time."

Finally, our crew of volunteers are as good as they get. Gail Chase, who crafted our amazing raffle baskets and her squad of Kelly Rebitz, Amy Kempe Volz, and Dave McCarron did an amazing job. Finally, this wonderful event could not have been held without the efforts of Gail, Bruce Rangnow, Tim Hassall and Phil Sokol.

Ron, you will be sorely missed! Rest in Peace!
